Culture and Commerce ... Jewels with The Bolshoi Ballet ... stars from the earth sparkling like snowflakes ... when I was at Christies my friend Claude Arpels was at his family firm two blocks away and we used to enjoy the high camp potential of tea at the palm court next store (palm trees! a harpist!) and would take turns attempting to surreptitiously slide a butter pat under the others elbow as they poured etc. while discussing business intrigues ... my first romantic kiss began our first date at the late and very intentionally camp Trader Vic's and ordered every red drink on the menu in honor of my red dress (we had met at a small party at Mars) a genuinely innocent and impetuous gesture as he was only 23 and I 20 ... I am happy the plaza is still there ... Claude is now on the board of slow money nyc ... diamond hands indeed : )
